The Łańcut Castle
Łańcut Castle is one of the most beautiful aristocratic residences in Poland, famous for its excellent interiors and extraordinarily interesting collection of horse-drawn carriages. The palace complex is surrounded by an old and picturesque park in the English style filled with pavilions and farm buildings, all part of the former the daily life of the castle.
The history of Łańcut stretches back to the early Middle Ages, founded as a town in 1349 under King Casmir the Great. The major landowning families in Łańcut were, successively, the Pilecki’s, Stadnicki’s, Lubomirski’s and the Potocki’s.
The Castle interiors are considered the most beautiful in Poland. The oldest preserved rooms are: Great Vestibule, Room under the Wooden Ceiling and Zodiac Room. They date back to the 40’s of the 17th century but unfortunately none of them remained in its original form.
The interiors hold numerous works of art which come from the old Łańcut collections and from other museums. The oldest exhibits create a part of collection made by Princess Lubomirska and they were brought to Łańcut in the 2nd half of the 18th century. The exhibits were used both as decorations and as everyday use objects. Some of the most valuable exhibits from this collection may be admired in the Gallery of Ancient Art in the National Museum in Warsaw. Successive owners from the Potocki family extended the collection by adding new exhibits. Today in Łańcut one may see rich and various collections of paintings and graphics, furniture, musical instruments, silver, porcelain, glass, fabric and a magnificent book collection.
*Łańcut Castle is located roughly 10 kilometers from Rzeszów but the transfer will be provided.

The Underground Tourist Route „Rzeszow cellars”
The underground tourist route ‚Rzeszow cellars’ is one of the greatest attractions in Rzeszow. It is a unique complex of corridors and cellars, which was built for years by the inhabitants of Rzeszow. It served them as shops, storages, production companies, and finally – during the wars and cataclysms – as a shelter. Today those mysterious, beautifully restored and enriched with historical exhibition cellars prove resourcefulness, creativity and initiative of the city’s dwellers.
Idea of transformation of the underground Rzeszow Old Town into tourist attraction appeared in the 80s of the twentieth century. However, until 1994 no action has been taken. At the beginning of 2000 mining works started and lasted until 19th of April 2001 when Underground Tourist Route became available for visitors.
Shortly before the opening of the route, city authorities have allocated financial resources to the search for the next cellars underneath market square, particularly in its western part. The undertaken work has brought expected results, which made possible to extend the Underground Tourist Route of 156 meters within 2005-2007.
